For all those that like to skate and create, this one is the holy grail of projects. The City of Seattle office of Arts & Cultural Affairs has submitted a call for artists to create art and skate-able art objects for the new Seattle Center Skatepark. $22K is on the line so get your submission in by March 18th, 2008.

Amazing Georgetown Graffiti Wall

Georgetown now has one of the biggest murals in Seattle (160′x18′) by 14 of the Northwest’s best graf artists. Some of the artists involved were SPECSONE, Humor, Weirdo, 179, Kiloe and Solace. Today is the grand wall unveiling party, with music, barbecue and refreshments, 11 a.m.-5 p.m, 4th ave S. and S. Michigan St. A complete photoset with closeups of the mural is available here.
