Here’s a taste of what’s new for 2009 in the bike industry. I’ll post more on Flickr later in the week. Iphoned…

I watched the Adobe presentation this morning on it’s new Creative Suite 4 software package. So far it looks like the amount of new features and increased connectivity is worth the upgrade. Here’s a few highlights:

1. Photoshop - streamlined 3D object editing and my favorite, content-aware scaling.
2. InDesign - add Flash type animation to your InDesign documents.
3. Illustrator - Looks like they’ve brought back Freehand’s multiple art boards in this AI version (Woot!).
4. Dreamweaver - I like the improved Code Navigator that highlights related files and CSS.

I am heading to Las Vegas to go to the Interbike Trade Show today. This event showcases all the new 2009 bicycle brands from around the world. I’ll post up a few photos of some of the bike hotness I see starting on Wednesday.

Is this blood veins or leafless trees? Either way I like how Portland’s Ryan Jacob Smith combines acrylics, silkscreen, spray paint, typography and graphite into his creative imagery. 

I just downloaded the Wordpress blog app to my phone & this is my first attempt at posting with it. Here’s a photo from the Goldfrapp show last night at Showbox Sodo. Mobile blogging - word!

My friend Erica over at Steel Toe Studios is showing some hot off the anvil sculptural objects tonight at Urban Hardwoods. The show opening starts at 6pm and also features photographer Adrian Goodhand and glass artist Jeanne Brennan.

Artillery Design really knows how to mix custom type with eye-catching imagery on their posters for Pearl Jam, Kings of Leon and Flight to Mars.

My Coworker Josh brought in his copy of the book BAND ID today. It’s a huge collection of music logos that covers more than 1,000 rock, hip hop, metal, pop, reggae, and country band emblems from the 1960s to today. My top 5 favorites are all in there: Rolling Stones, AC/DC, Love & Rockets, Black Flag and Run DMC. They also interview designers such as John Pasche who did the iconic Mouth/Tongue logo for the Rolling Stones back in 1970.

ELISTRATOR did a new colorful mural over at the Vera Project. Great job!

On September 5th Seattle’s Scott Fuller is having a show at EVO to promote the launch of his brand Diekotomy. It looks like Scott is creating large scale versions of his artwork out of wood and acrylic paint - very cool. Check out his site here to see more photos.
