This Friday through Sunday 250 pinball and arcade games are beckoning to be played at the Northwest Pinball and Gameroom Show. All the games are set on FREE PLAY with the price of an admission ticket. Steve Wiebe, Star of the documentary “The King Of Kong“, will be in attendance. I personally am going to try to make it to the end of the arcade game Scramble, which I never was able to finish as a kid.

SIFF APP
May 16th, 2010 by Evan
This year the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) has hundreds of great movie screenings, which is making hard to choose. Their new SIFF iPhone app, created by POP, has a SIFFter visual film filter that let’s you search by country, genre, venue, title, director, or keyword. It also let’s you buy tickets right from your phone.
Here’s my picks so far for the festival: Holy Rollers, Wheedle’s Groove, Disco and Atomic War, The Chef of South Polar, Bodyguards and Assassins, and finally Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields performs 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

New Seattle’s Best Coffee Logo
May 12th, 2010 by Evan
There’s a lot of buzz about the new Seattle’s Best Coffee rebranding and simple new logo. I asked around the office and these are the first comments upon viewing the new logo:
“What’s that thing in the back of your throat? It looks like a Uvula hanging down.”
“It looks sterile and old.”
“I see a blood donation center sign.”
“Looks like an old oil company logo.”
Not one of the people I showed it to liked it over the old logo. I think Starbucks and their design firm Creature jumped the shark on this one. Verdict: FAIL.

Photos from the Holy Oly

It was a beautiful day at Summit East on Saturday. I hadn’t been there since that massive avalanche came down that hill last January. You can see all the photos I took at the Holy Oly Revival on my Flickr page.
