U2 has opened up their live show to the world, with the the rebroadcast of the full live streaming performance from their October 25th Rose Bowl appearance. It’s pretty amazing to be able to watch the entire 2 hour, 21 minute concert on your computer monitor.

Seattle hip hop crew Dyme Def just finished their new video for the song “I’m Gone“, shot using just a couple of Apple 3G S iPhone’s and it’s new video functionality. Very cool! You can see Dyme Def and Fresh Espresso play for free Friday Aug 7th at 6pm at the Mural Ampitheater at Seattle Center.

Free music anyone? Friday July 31st is the first free KEXP Concert at the Mural, happening at the Seattle Center Mural Ampitheatre. Blitzen Trapper & Throw Me the Statue will be performing from 5-8pm.

This year Artopia and the Georgetown Music Fest merged to become a one day huge music/art festival on June 27th. You’ll see lots of power tool racing, innovative art and bands galore.

Also the new all ages venue, The Slab, will be opening during Artopia with sets by The Lonely Forest and New Faces. The Slab grand opening poster I did can be seen here.

I’m looking forward to the debut release from Fresh Espresso, Seattle’s new hip hop crew. The production is future flavored on the few songs I’ve heard. Check out the floaty BeeGee’s sample on the track “Big or Small“. Hot fire!!!

It looks like the new Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse CD collaboration has been shelved by EMI. But that’s not stopping them from releasing “Dark Night of the Soul” as a 100+ page book of David Linch photographs inspired by the music. It will also include a blank CD-R with a label saying, ‘For Legal Reasons, enclosed CD-R contains no music. Use it as you will.’ You can listen to the whole CD here.

April 18th is the official Record Store Day, a celebration of the unique culture surrounding over 700 independently owned record stores in the USA.  Lots of free live music will be playing in stores around the northwest including 90′s rockers Sweetwater at Easy Street Records on Queen Anne.
