The Bicycle Film Festival kicks off tomorrow in Seattle through October 10th. I’m going to catch the Mat Hoffman documentary “The Birth Of Big Air” again on Friday. You can check the whole lineup here.

This year the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) has hundreds of great movie screenings, which is making hard to choose. Their new SIFF iPhone app, created by POP, has a SIFFter visual film filter that let’s you search by country, genre, venue, title, director, or keyword. It also let’s you buy tickets right from your phone.

Here’s my picks so far for the festival: Holy Rollers, Wheedle’s Groove, Disco and Atomic War, The Chef of South Polar, Bodyguards and Assassins, and finally Stephin Merritt of The Magnetic Fields performs 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

BMX filmer Brian Chace is premiering his new movie “Refresh” this week featuring riding from Def Paul, Chris Martindale, Scott Fuller and more. On April 22nd it’s playing at the Guild 45th, and April 23rd it’s at Still Liquor on Capital Hill.

Exit Through The Gift Shop

Street Artist Banksy is opening his film “Exit Through The Gift Shop” in Seattle at the Harvard Exit on April 23rd. Banksy describes it as “the story of how one man set out to film the un-filmable. And failed”. I’m there!

Wheedle’s Groove Movie Trailer

This movie trailer gives even more insight into Seattle’s Funk & Soul scene from the 60′s and 70′s, which was featured on the Wheedle’s Groove Compilation from Light in the Attic Records. This is an incredible project and I can’t wait to see the completed feature film.

Here’s your chance to watch the complete short film, Logorama, by Alaux and Herve de Crece. This film just one a 2010 Oscar for Best Animated Short and was made entirely of corporate logo placements.

Top 3 Super Bowl 2010 Commercials

This year the biggest brands threw down 2-3 million for the chance to advertise on the Super Bowl. Between all the commercials featuring men’s underwear and 55 calorie light beer, these 3 were pretty entertaining.

Kia Sorento “Joyride” ad

In this commercial four life-size toy characters go on a road trip including Muno from Yo Gabba Gabba, a Sock Monkey, a Tin Robot and Blabla doll Mr. X. Just seeing a sock monkey flipping a jet ski and getting “MOM” knitted on his arm is worth checking it out. The song is “How You Like Me Now” by The Heavy.

Home Away “Hotel Hell Vacation” ad

Clueless travelers Clark and Ellen Griswald (aka Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo) reprise their role from 1983′s “National Lampoon’s Vacation” movie for this ad for Home Away, a vacation rental home website. This teaser ad was creative and made me want to see the extended short film on their site.

Google “Parisian Love” ad

This was a brilliantly simple concept that clearly showed how integrated Google has become into our everyday lives.

Head Like A Kite Video

Seattle band Head Like a Kite have a new video titled “Director’s Cut” featuring Tilson from Saturday Knights. Seattle Photographer Chase Jarvis did a great job directing this video. The track is in support of giveseattle.org.
