This friday February 27th, the Vancouver Art Gallery transforms into FUSE – where art, music and live perfomance intertwine. Highlights are the current exhibit “How Soon Is Now” and live music by Call The City. I wish I could be there for this, it’s going to be huge!

The Portland based clothing company, La Merde, has just released it’s spring collection of lightweight coats. I like the plaid detailing on the inner lining and the stitched logo accents.

Thought this was a pretty cool wallet design and a great reuse of old cassette tapes.

This Wednesday the 22nd is New Jack City, a fashion event at Neumos showcasing up and coming local designers: Lavsh by Alfred Lape, Emeka Alams, Rader & Trails by Marcus Rader, Mussy by Naomi Balatbat & CB, and more brands from local boutique shops. Northwest fashion is getting lots of attention these days with Portland’s Leanne Marshall winning the “Project Runway” show last week.

Upper Playground, the art and apparel store from SF, is opening a new storefront in Seattle’s University District. The grand opening is Sept 19th and 20th for the retail store and the new FIFTY24SEA gallery. Parskid and Angel179 will be showing work in the gallery on Friday and Munk One and Mears One will be doing a live art installation on Saturday from 2-6pm. One of my favorite local hip-hop artists, Portland’s Ohmega Watts, will be performing on Friday evening sometime inbetween 5-10pm. Woot woot!

DB Clay, Portland’s purveyor of designer wallets, has released it’s 10 year anniversary collection titled “3.1″. They have eighteen life experience-based-designs to choose from. I like the crossed off to-do list design on the Adult Chores wallet.
