Here is the first sneak peek at my friend Erica’s new line of STS bespoke buckles! You can choose the letter and background, and she’ll make it for you. The letters are from the House Industries Eames Century Modern font. Erica licensed the slab serif typeface from them to use for this exclusive buckle. Numerals and ornaments will be available too.

Pearl Jam’s 10 Club is presenting the Rock Art & Poster Convention this Sunday the 23rd at the Showbox at the Market. Spokane Artist Jim Koch stopped by the office and I got a peek at his Nitro Bud toy he did for Jamungo. He added a lot of vintage Redline BMX styling in the helmet and striping. You can pick up yours at Jim’s site.

New Seattle’s Best Coffee Logo

There’s a lot of buzz about the new Seattle’s Best Coffee rebranding and simple new logo. I asked around the office and these are the first comments upon viewing the new logo:

“What’s that thing in the back of your throat? It looks like a Uvula hanging down.”

“It looks sterile and old.”

“I see a blood donation center sign.”

“Looks like an old oil company logo.”

Not one of the people I showed it to liked it over the old logo. I think Starbucks and their design firm Creature jumped the shark on this one. Verdict: FAIL.

Parskid “Isolated Frontier”

I’m going to check out the Parskid “Isolated Frontier” solo show this week. The show opening is on May 6th at the Flatcolor Gallery in the Pioneer Square area. I look forward to seeing where he takes his characters next.

Iron Man 2 Poster

Tyler Stout was commissioned to do an Iron Man 2 poster in conjunction with the movies release. This 6 color 24×36″ poster was printed on cream paper by D&L Screenprinting.
