Colombia City’s Gather gallery is featuring an enlightening show by Jeremy Bert.  Jeremy has assembled a complete alphabet using cast off neon letters from old advertising signs. I found that I recognized the letters from somewhere but it wasn’t instantly clear. We get bombarded with so many brand name logos every day, it was fun to solve what context I knew each letter from. See if you can itentify the 5 letters below.

Goods Fall Collection

Seattle based retailer Good’s has released their in-house 2008 Fall Men’s Collection. It’s a solid line-up of premium selvedge denim, quilted plaid flannels, and military styled button ups. The collection is available now in-store as well as online. Goods brand T-Shirts and other accessories will be available in November.

4th Annual Zombie Walk

This morning I caught the zombie recreation of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video at Occidental Park in Seattle. A big hat’s off to all the zombies who put on a great show! October marks the 25th anniversary of the Thriller video. More zombie action is happening Sunday at the 4th annual Zombie Walk as they invade West Seattle.

Filter #2

The second edition of the local literary handmade book, Filter, is out this week. Editor Jennifer Borges Foster makes each one by hand, sewing the binding, hand selecting the fine papers, and inking several pages. Each book features essays, poems & short plays, with only 200 signed and numbered editions available.

New Jack City Fashion Show

This Wednesday the 22nd is New Jack City, a fashion event at Neumos showcasing up and coming local designers: Lavsh by Alfred Lape, Emeka Alams, Rader & Trails by Marcus Rader, Mussy by Naomi Balatbat & CB, and more brands from local boutique shops. Northwest fashion is getting lots of attention these days with Portland’s Leanne Marshall winning the “Project Runway” show last week.

Drive-By Press

With a 600 pound press and a van filled with their woodblock art, Greg and Joseph of Drive-By Press have been printing their art at events across America. Their next stop is at Portland’s The Life, so come by and make your own print or t-shirt. The printing party starts at 6:30pm on Saturday Oct 18th.
