Accidents Grotesque
July 28th, 2008 by Evan
The mightypop posts have been a little slow last week. I’ve been away at a photoshoot in Utah which turned out unbelievable. I’ll post the results in a few weeks.
Have you seen the new typeface over at You Work For Them? It’s Accidents Grotesque, a hand drawn san serif that confirms that mistakes can be beautiful.

Anthony Howe
July 21st, 2008 by Evan
I just got back from 4 sunny days on Orcas Island. There are lots of artists on that island but one of my favorites is the kinetic wind sculptures of Anthony Howe. He uses stainless steel, glass fiber, wood and mirrors to create these moving sculptures. Visit his scupture park next time you’re on Orcas.

Ryz Custom Shoes
July 16th, 2008 by Evan
Now everyone has a shot at designing a custom sneaker. Portland’s Ryz shoes lets you upload your designs to get voted on by users of the site. All you have to do is download a shoe template, then create your design. If it’s chosen you’ll win $1000 and $1 royalty for every shoe sold. I can see this site getting as big as Threadless. The whole crowdsourcing concept keeps getting used in better and better ways each year.
