Jesse LeDoux Interview

March 30th, 2008 by Evan

Brightest Young Things has a good interview with former Sup Pop art director and current partner in Patent Pending Industries, Jesse LedDoux. His work can be seen all over the northwest in the form of posters and CD designs. The Grammy nominated Shins CD packaging is a good example of his work. Also, his Dr. Ledoux Critter Splitter Series of toy figures in on sale at Kidrobot for $1 each. That’s too cheap to pass up!

Geoff McFetridge at the SAM Sculpture Park

March 28th, 2008 by Evan

The amazing Geoff McFetridge’s poster installation is officially opening March 29th at the Seattle Olympic Sculpture Park’s PACCAR Pavilion. It’s a great mix of big ideas whittled down to their core elements - no over designing here. All of the “posters” are actually paintings on molded birch veneers (aka plywood). Geoff is also a part of the upcoming “Beautiful Losers” movie about the D.I.Y. art scene.

March 14th, 2008 by Evan

Robert dug down deep to his inner kid and painted familiar action figures from his youth. The results are strikingly high end juxtaposing the figure with a gilded frame. See his work in person at the Roq La Rue opening tonight March 14th from 6-9pm.

Seattle Bike Polo

March 12th, 2008 by Evan

Mightypop loves when designs from the past are mixed with the present. Earth, Wind & Rider’s garments fit that description to a T. Their new classic “Seattle” Merino wool jersey was made for the northwest bike polo scene. The vintage racing style looks like it’s straight out of a photo from the Tour de France 50 years ago.
